I was gonna say “what you think he had insurance???” but 1) at least in the early aughts to mid-teens, NY was one of the less excruciating states to get medicaid in, and 2) he was a minor and it’s a LOT easier to get medicaid for a minor, especially when said minor’s legal guardians are retirees on fixed incomes I’d wager.
So yeah they’re all just fuckin dumbasses! I love them.
This is why I think it would be peak comedy for the radioactive spider to be of a non-venomous species and for there to be a scene of a new Peter Parker/Spiderperson looking up the spider’s features or posting a photo to an identification subbredit before being informed of the fact that nothing will happen

btw she gave him a single which can be made in a matter of minute depending on pattern and size but he gave her a giant cuff which can take hours or even more than a day to complete based on just how complex the design and materials are. she wanted to trade something small and simple and he gave her a massive token of his love and respect for her as a fellow raver (and possibly his junior in the scene)

Since people seem to like the dragon, here is the full figure:
His original orb was clear orange or yellow. You can see part of it still in his hand, but it broke along with his wing a long time ago. I always wanted to glue the wing back on, but I can’t find it now. So imagine he has his two wings. Oh, and the tip of his middle horn.
He had an led base made to look like lava I think, but that’s gone too, so here he is sat on a base that’s too small, just to show how the figure used to look lit up.
In my teens I had cousins SO tiny they did not understand how video games worked and would just cry because they immediately walked off a cliff or something so what I did was give them a non functioning controller and sit behind them actually playing the game and they had the time of their life thinking they were the one playing but I do remember the very moment one of them was growing enough to start looking back at me squinting suspiciously
